New movies from 2018 have Valentine’s Day movie title ‘Mama’

Hollywood is celebrating Valentine’s day with a new batch of movies. 

The latest batch of films include “Mama” starring Julia Roberts, “The Great Gatsby” starring Michael Keaton, and “Bachelor in Paradise” starring Justin Timberlake. 

The “Bachelorette” star is joined by new co-stars Kate Upton and Tasha Fox.

“Basketball Wives” stars Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Judd are also among the films in the countdown.

Here are the new movies that have been announced. 

  MAMA MOMA   (HBO)  The title is an allusion to the movie MAMA.

 It follows the lives of three women (Lori Pettyjohn, Amy Ryan, and Julia Roberts) who are forced to share a bedroom during a devastating pandemic.

The movie was written by Michelle MacLaren and directed by Michael Showalter. MAMA MAMA  (Hollywood)  “Mama,” written and directed to be released on February 16, 2019.

The movie follows three women who live together during the pandemic and must share a bed with each other.

Bachelor In Paradise  (HBO, Netflix) The story of two women (Anna Kendrick and Tessa Thompson) who work together to try to save their lives and become parents.

LIFE OF A FATHER  (Sony Pictures Classics, Sony Pictures Classics) “Life of a Father,” written by Steven Soderbergh and directed and co-starred by David Wain.

PANIC (Hulu) This adaptation of “The Princess Bride” was directed by Stephen King and stars Tom Cruise, Kristen Stewart, and Anthony Hopkins.

THE GREAT GATSBY  The title of this new film is a reference to “The King and I.”

It tells the story of the lives and loves of Charles and Daisy Duke.

BABY IN PARADISE  This is a spinoff of “Beverly Hills 90210,” a spin-off of the movie “Maddie and the Infinite Sadness.”

BELIEVE”  “Believe,” written, directed and starring Meryl Streep.

JESSICA ROBERTS’ “MAMA” The actress who plays Mia Roberts is joined in the film by Julia Roberts and Kate Upton.

BOYNTON’S “BATHORY”  The director of “Gattaca,” “Sucker Punch,” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Brett Ratner is a producer on the film.

DOUBLE CHECK” (Sony Classics)  A spin-on of “Big Love,” “Double Check” follows two women who work with a former classmate of the actress.

BIG WALLS” The story follows the life of two men, one of whom is a criminal.

BILLY TAYLOR’S” BATHORY The film is directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Billy Bob Thornton and Kate Hudson.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (FOX) It’s a remake of “A Hard Day’s Night” starring John Travolta and Elizabeth Banks.

CHESAPEAKE, TEXAS “The Longest Yard,” written to be the first film in a trilogy, follows a group of boys who are bullied and forced to live together.

CLEVELAND, OHIO “Dirty Dancing” (FOX, Netflix, Amazon) Director Alex Garland has written and coedicated the script for the upcoming sequel to the musical.

CLIMAX” “Climax,” directed by David Lowery and starring Ryan Gosling, Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, and Daniel Craig.

CREED  Newcomers are in for a surprise in this new installment of the TV show, directed by John Ridley.

DRESS UP, DANCE” A remake of the hit TV series, “Dancing With the Stars.”

EXHIBITORS” New movies from 2019: “MAMA,” “THE GREAT GODS OF WAR,”  SANDMAN” “Sisters,” directed and written by David Fincher and starring Julia Garner, Cate Blanchett, and Kristen Stewart.

GRANADA” Director Denis Villeneuve is back for the fourth film in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise.

HOLIDAY PARTY” For the first time, the title of the new movie is a nod to the holidays.

In a nod toward the holidays, “Holiday Party” stars Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Saldana, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruff
