“The Girl” star Mia Wasikowska opens her new film, “The Young Girl Who Went to the Party,” in theaters on May 18.
Wasikowski’s star was rising when she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in “The Theory of Everything” and when she announced she was leaving the stage to become a public speaker.
Now, she’s playing a younger woman struggling with the effects of the 2016 election on her young children.
Wasikewska said in an interview with The Washington Times that she was inspired by a conversation she had with her daughter in her mid-20s.
The older woman had just moved to Los Angeles from her native Poland and had been working for a company that manufactures plastic bags for the city’s parks.
The younger woman told Wasikwska that she and her husband had never discussed the election and that she had never wanted to vote for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.
“And she just said, ‘I think it’s time for us to have a conversation,'” Wasikowkska said.
“So she and I started talking about it and it’s not like she was saying, ‘Oh, you’re so old.
We’ll never see you again,'” but rather, ‘You’re not old enough.
You have a lot of years ahead of you.’
“So, in my head, I knew that it was something I could relate to, and that I could connect to and relate to her story, too,” Wasikowsky told the newspaper.
She added that she began to have conversations with her family and friends about how her daughter’s experience had affected them.
She said she was also influenced by the film “The People v.
O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” which she co-wrote with her sister, actress and former “Vegas” star Michelle Williams.
“We’re a very big ‘Vegans’ family, so when I saw ‘The People V. O, Simpson’ I was like, ‘That’s how I feel about it,’ ” she said.
Wasilzowska, whose film will debut at the Sundance Film Festival on June 3, said that she hopes the film will open doors for younger generations to discuss their own experiences.
The film, which has a production budget of $25 million, stars Wasikkowski and her daughter, singer-songwriter Sólka Lajecki.
“I’m a very political person, so it’s important for people to understand that I think there are still things that people don’t know about this country, but we need to do everything we can to make sure that it is seen,” she told the Times.
“The film is about an older woman who had a very young child when she left her country for the United States and then a woman who was in the military and a woman that had a daughter and a granddaughter who is still in the country. “
“That’s the part I want to get to. “
I hope people will see that it’s very much about the future of the country.” “

The film is set in the late ’80s and is based on the life of Isak Szekely, a former Polish-American who is now living in Los Angeles.
It also stars the Swedish actress Anna Tournes-Tournes and the Canadian actress Anna Paquin.
“She was a little girl who was a star, a star in her own right, and she went to the party, and her mother died in a plane crash, and it was a big shock,” Wasikewkska told The Times.
In an interview last year with The Hollywood Reporter, Wasikwa said she believed it was important to tell the story of a woman from the ’60s who “got lost in a time when people were not so happy with what was happening.”
The movie opens in theaters May 17.
“You can’t really make a movie about the country you were born in without making it about the people you’re from,” she said, adding that she believes that film-makers should explore how to explore a person’s roots, rather than trying to “just make them a part of the film.”
Wasikwksk, who is of Polish heritage, said the film has not been subject to “cultural appropriation.”
“It wasn’t something I had any problem with, I just think it was too much,” she added.
